Alan and I ripped out the old particle board underlay and put in new plywood. We bruised our hands and Alan is pretty sore all over from all the lifting and bending. Tomorrow we hope to start laying the hard wood flooring down. Alan plans to do the kitchen some time in January or February. I can't wait to see the finished look!
We put together 3 puzzles while Ashleigh's family was here for Christmas. I love puzzles and it was great fun to do so many in a row like that!
We ate soo much junk food. This is carmel popcorn that I made and we all devoured. I have gained 2 pounds so far but will get it off again after the New Year and everyone goes home.
We had a great time being together, even with the house torn up and not a lot of Christmas decorations out. We are just glad the weather didn't keep everyone away. We wish Jamie and Jake had been able to come, but the pass was closed the day they planned to come so they just stayed home.
Our bedroom after and before carpet. We stayed up until 11:30 putting all the furniture back in place. We hope to go get the wood flooring this afternoon and lay it sometime this week.
This is the second Sunday in two weeks that church has been cancelled because of the weather. Our Christmas party was called off last night, bummer! Alan and I have been cuddled up this morning trying to keep warm. We got all the carpet up last night and hope our new carpet gets put down tomorrow!
We had 9-12 inches fall yesterday and rain turned to ice last night.
I have never seen this much snow here in the 16 years we have been in Hillsboro. We are supposed to have more snow most of this week.
Alan and I are empty nesters with wonderful children and grandkids. We love to see, visit, and spoil them very much. We love living in other parts of the world but are glad to come back home where we are closer to family and friends.
