March 2024

The Larsens and Nufers helped us clean and make fixes to the Masinloc sister"s apartment.

We had sizzling pork sisig afterwards, it was really good, with an egg on top to fry into the meat.
Mixing the egg into my meat.

Getting the apartment papers signed for Dinalupihen. Ann and Elsa, Elder Vergara, Sy, and Anding.
Loading the truck to move the Elders  in Dinalupihan.
Fixes in San Narciso- toilets, shower, and sink drain.
Fixes in San Felipe- faucets, shower spigot, shower head, 2 pipes outside to get water inside.
Jury rigged to fix the spigot. Now it works!

A rainbow during our morning walk.
Mukbang Korean food for Duane's birthday March 19
Halo Halo dessert, pretty good!
Bro. and Sis. Albrecht came to visit for a week, they are leaving for the MNL airport.
We went to a baptism of the San Marcelino sisters, it was at the San Antonio chapel. A leader from San Marcelino talked to us about going to the Mall of America and hearing the Tabernacle Choir sing. He took 3 pictures and 1 of them was our niece. Small world!
Fixing 2 toilets, a bidet, sink faucet, and shower wand in Olongapo before our Zone Conference.
Alan was drenched with sweat. When he finished he showered in the Elder's shower and changed clothes.
Olongapo Zone Conference.
Getting mango smoothies on mango highway.
I bought jack fruit from the lady standing behind me. It was almost rotten, but she needed the money.

Defrosting and eating a mango smoothie.
Easter week-Maundy Thursday we saw a lot of crosses being dragged down the streets and people flogging themselves or others flogging them.
4 men flogging themselves, but I only got the end of the parade.

We went to eat Easter dinner at the patriarch's house in San Marcelino. They have a wonderful little farm and grow cacao. This is fermenting 2 weeks.
He roasts and dries the cacao beans and makes his own chocolate. Milk and dark.

Patriarch Wright in the background. He's married to a Filipino and they moved back here 15 years ago.

Yummy chicken stew, BBQ beef, rice, crab, green beans, mango, and watermelon. Great company, Sister Aitcheson from Fiji and Sister Kosote from Papa New Guinea.

Moving the sisters into Balanga

Giving the sisters rides in San Felipe.
The Lauritzens made a spaghetti dinner for all of us at the mission home.
Moving the Lauritzens from Bagac to Hermosa.
The moving crew.
We called Macoy and he got the aircons and put them in that day, it was a wonderful miracle he could do it so quickly for the new apartment in Hermosa.
Blaze, 10, and Maaria, 14, were baptized. We got to help the tech sisters teach them.
The San Marcelino sisters had baptisms the next day. Alan had fun singing with the young adults with the guitar.
Our daughters were able to get together in WA over Presidents weekend.
The relief society sisters wanted a picture after church.
The mission leaders, seniors, tech sisters, and AP's all came to the office to have cake and ice cream and sang happy birthday to me.
My niece, KaRyn sang in the Tabernacle choir here in Manila.
The senior missionaries took a p day and had a boat ride to a small island where we snorkeled and went around another island. We ate at Papagayos afterwards and then went back to the office.
