August 2024

The Lauritzens invited all the seniors over to their house for potluck lunch and games. It was so fun to get together on our P-day.
We took the Nufers and sister Allred to the temple to celebrate the Nufers' anniversary. We met the Albrechts there and did a session together. We also did inititories and sealings.
Sister Allred has the missionaries over to her apt to cook lunch on Sunday She had 14 her last Sunday in the mission. We brought coconut bread over to share with them.

Here are their shoes outside our apt doors.

July 24

The crow that comes knocking on our window everyday. It puts a smile on my face.
We went to the Urdaneta temple.
We bought 11 extra mattresses for the missionaries coming for the zone conference with our area president, Elder Revillo. We could have used more after floods kept them all between Olongapo and Castillejos mission apartments.

Waiting for Elder Revillo, the rains were torrential.
Benny and Minnie made wonderful food and a fish for every couple.
President Albrecht was getting texts from missionaries of flooding and sent the Lauritzens to Hermosa and Mandama to get the missionaries out, We cancelled conference for the next day and all the missionaries at conference stayed at apts close to Olongapo.
Alan got a call from the elders in Castillejos that the plug on the toaster oven fried. He replaced the plug and wrapped it with electrical tape so moisture wouldn't hit it again. He tripped the breaker back on and gave them another toaster oven and they were Very happy.

Where the plug got fried in the wall.
We drove sisters to the bus station, 4 loads, then the last load we drove to Subic with us. We had flooding and land slides, but made it just fine.
This is a block before our apt. and chapel.
Sweeping up the office, no maintenance came this week.
Alan fixing the sister's toilet in San Marcelino.
Putting grommets in the 2 tarps for the back patio of the Subic Blues apartments.
We had no internet for almost a week, so frustrating when that happens and feels SO good when we get it back.
